that was funny, totally how a dub would post with the 'I feel sorry for you' self righteousness.
I'll keep to my debauchery thankyou :)

the love you had at first?
by eye 23 ini have been so sadend by finding this site and wanted you all to know that the organization is indeed a loving one with only your best interests at heart...but i'm sure, if you look deep within your hearts you already know this to be true...dont you?.
if you search your inamost thoughts and feelings and put away your debeauched/immoral life style ( because if you are truly honest with yourselves, guilt is the reason you needed to distance yourselves from righteousness) and come back to the truth you will see that only kind, loving and overwhelming compassion has always been at the forefront of the wtbts and that although you may feel contentment in a (deluded sort of way) you would have a real happiness within the true christian organization...as your former bible trained concience must know... all others that profess to be 'christian' are satanicly influenced even though they may appear to do good/kind things....how else would the last days of satans system be?.
so i urge all the 'lost sheep' to 'find the love you had at first' and return to the loving compasionate embrace of the organization....you know this makes sense!!!!

February 28th and My Dad.
by Englishman init'll be 21 years ago since my dad died.. i remember it vividly.
i got into work to find a message to ring my mum urgently.
she told me he'd had a massive cardiac infarction and died at 9.30 that morning.

Mike, you are very lucky to have had such a great dad.
The JW's are misguided fools but some of them are still genuinely good people -

Are UK JWs more faithful the US JWs?
by Qcmbr indo you find there are significant differences in religious commitment across the atlantic?
feel free to chip in if your from another country which is even more die hard / soft and slushy than the us /brits.

yeah I guess that sums up my view of the differences in attitude - if someone tells us to do something we want to know why rather than giving blind obedience

Tesco's
by Englishman innext time you're in tescos, check out the wonderful range of fresh vegetables on offer.. magnificent displays.
eye-catching colours.. but there's something missing.. they don't smell of anything.. tomatoes have no smell.
strawberries have no smell.
-
Satans little helper
the smell went the same way as the blotches on apples - engineered out or sprayed with chemicals
it's more expensive but buy from organic farms, in Bristol there are a couple fo places that do organic boxes. I'm pretty sure that Weston-super-mud has some good organic producers close by. Try the soil association website - http://www.soilassociation.org/web/sa/saweb.nsf?Open and you should be able to find local producers -

My thoughts on hating the WTS.
by kwintestal in" i was thinking today about hating the wts, and you know i really do, and for many reasons which i won't really get into here.. on this thought, i imagined the jwd (jesus' wacky discussion forum) website of 2000 years ago.
i'm sure many of jesus' new followers would start threads about having their hands cut off, being stoned and the secret backroom shenanigans of the pharisees.
all there is, is hate here!

hate is destructive, it will eat at you until it poisons your whole life.
The best way to get even is to love your life with every ounce of your energy. Don't give them even a second thought. -

I get the impression that Americans as a whole have more of a collective mentallity and like having someone tell them the way things should be - as if they ar elooking for a headship figure to guide them. Almost all of the new religions come out of the states.
Could it be that you are all missing King and country and shrugged off being part of the empire a bit too early? ;-) -

Takin a VACATION- need lots of input!
by upside/down inok i'm ready to take a vacation and i'm suffering from information overload.. last year i went to iberostar in cozumel june 10 thru 17 - the absolute worst vacation of my life!
it rained 29 inches in 6 hours and 50 inches the whole week.

the diving in Cancun is fab, I did my PADI advanced the year before last out there. Problem is that Cancun is a hole with little more to do than get drunk in crappy bars on the days you aren't diving

2 days in NY, 2 days in LA, what do you do?
by Satans little helper inguys and girls, mrs slh and i are emigrating to the promised land of australia in august and the cheapest way to get there with the best luggage allowance is via the us.
as it's a round the world ticket we can stop twice on the way and have decided to spend 2 days in ny and 2 days in la.
so, we've got limited time and don't want to spend an absolute fortune (so disneyland is out).

Sorry Sassy I didn't pick up on your message, I wasn't being rude. Thanks for the suggestion but we are going to be really pushed for time and Mrs SLH isn't keen on meeting 'internet people' on what is likely to be our only holiday this year (yes I know, she doesn't get the whole interweb thing and whilst I would love to meet everyone I have to keep the boss happy. Maybe when we do the world tour back to visit the UK in a couple of years time and don't have 18 tons of luggage!)
So for New York we have:
Guggenheim
NY Library
Empire State Building
Statten Island Ferry (A definite)
Bronx Zoo
MOMA (This is a definite, I have always wanted to see it)
Rockefeller Centre
Times Square
Central Park
St Pats (maybe, I would love it but Mrs SLH hates churches after the week I spent dragging her round Paris!)
As for a hotel I have found a little place called the Amsterdam Court Hotel for $100/night which looks great and pretty comfortable and is right in mid town close to Cewntral Park and Times Square
In LA we've got:
Venice Beach - this is a most definite, one of my fave films was the remake of Romeo and Juliet filmed there
Santa Monica Beach (Isn't there a race circuit near there?)
Jay Leno Show
Hollywood
Looks like I am going to have one hell of a week! Any more suggestions for LA would be cool

Great, loads to do in NY and I have found a pretty good hotel mid town near Times Square for less than $100/night.
What is there to do and see in LA tho? I've seen the movies but I don't want to waste two days going there if all i can see is either Disneyland or take some "Famous peoples houses" tour
If you had the choice would you visit LA or San Fransisco? -
